Custom 2007 Chevrolet Silverado - Groundbreaker

Justin Higley has been around the truck scene long enough to know quality work when he sees it. Ever since he could get behind the wheel, he has been customizing his trucks. He started off with a ‘99 Silverado that he lifted with an entry-level bolt-on kit, and then he tried going the opposite direction with a slammed GMC on hydraulics. That didn’t work out too well, because Justin liked being able to hop in a custom truck without having to adjust the suspension for road clearance.

Custom 2003 Chevrolet S-10 - One Bad Crew

Michael “Guppy” Engberg bought this truck two years ago from Direct Autosports in Orange County, California. The truck was basically done and was used to feature new wheels for Jesse James at the SEMA Show. It was already ‘bagged, stretched for the 6-footlong bed, and coated in suede paint. The truck looked good-good enough to please Michael’s son, Arick, aka Li’l Gup. Even at a young age,Li’l Gup had an eye for cool, and after seeing the excitement in his kid’s eyes, Big Guppy knew what he had to do-buy it. Michael owned the truck for about a year, and in that time, he enjoyed driving his son to shows and hanging out. One night on a back country road, something horrible happened. A 45-pound raccoon wandered its fat butt out on the road, causing Michael to swerve right into a guard rail. The guard rail kept Michael on the road but tore through the sheetmetal like a can opener. This accident was the inspiration to rebuild, this time with some personal style.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado Grille - Silverado Smile

Chevrolet’s newest offering in the truck category is the ‘07 Silverado. This truck features an all-new sheetmetal and grille design that, in our opinion, is a perfect canvas to customize. Because we are custom freaks, we just had to see one of these trucks sporting a billet grille. T-Rex has a full billet overlay grille that requires no cutting to install and looks pretty sweet. The grilles are constructed out of T-6 billet aluminum, which has been TIG-welded in a custom jig to ensure nice straight lines. They will come to you completely powdercoated black, except for the face, which will be polished to a nice luster. The crew at SoCal SuperTrucks took a small break during the suspension lift to install the T-Rex bars.

Cory Scott’s ‘71 Chevy truck is incredibly deceiving, to say the least. It looks like it’s just a really cool classic truck, hammered over 22s, but if you take a closer look at the body, you will realize that what looks like the original trim has been completely painted on. You might be asking why someone would do so. The fact that Cory is the owner of a paint and body business named Kustom Werx in Conroe, Texas, may give you some indication why it has a trick and misleading paintjob.

Greg Miller from Gulfport, Mississippi, is a guy who is surrounded by custom vehicles once a year. You may ask why would custom trucks come to this guy? What makes him special? The answer is: Besides being a gearhead through and through, Greg also puts on the Scrapin’ the Coast show. That’s right; the guy who built this sweet Midori Green ‘52 is also a show promoter. To say the bar was set pretty high for whatever he builds would be an understatement. If you’re the guy putting on the show, your ride better be lower, cleaner, and down-right awesome, if you don’t want to catch any flack from the guys who enter their trucks for judging. After two years of cutting, welding, and sanding, Greg’s truck is a testament to the results you’ll get with high standards and talented hands.
